"J&L, It's a Blast!" Inspires New Work in Glass at The Westmoreland

Cory Bonnet's painting "J&L, It's a Blast!" has been on view at The Westmoreland Museum of American Art as part of Steel Valley Visions. Now it has inspired a new piece in glass.

This October, The Westmoreland and Pittsburgh Glass Center present Reflections in Glass, a five-day celebration of creativity and collaboration. Through a blind draw, The Westmoreland randomly assigned fifteen artists from Pennsylvania and beyond an artwork on view in its collection. Each artist created a new glass work inspired by it. "J&L, It's a Blast!" is one of those works.

See it October 14 to 18

The new glass works are on view at The Westmoreland Wednesday, October 14 through Sunday, October 18. The event includes live glassblowing demonstrations and workshops.

On Friday, October 16, Glass After Dark is your chance to meet the artists. Sunday, October 18, admission is free.

The Westmoreland is at 221 North Main Street in Greensburg. Details and tickets are on the museum's site.

Pittsburgh Glass Center in 2027

After the festival, the painting and glass works travel to Pittsburgh Glass Center for a featured exhibition in early 2027.
