Reclaiming Pittsburgh's History Through Art

Cory Bonnet's Civic Arena Work at the AAP 110th Anniversary Exhibit

Patterns' founder Cory Bonnet will show three pieces of work created with salvaged stainless steel Civic Arena Dome Panels in the upcoming Associated Artists (AAP) of Pittsburgh's 110th Anniversary Exhibition.

Bonnet acquired the panels after the demolition of Civic Arena. These panels, once a part of the iconic Pittsburgh landmark, have been transformed into works of art through Bonnet's use of oil and pigment.

The decision to incorporate the Civic Arena panels into his artwork reflects the artist's deep connection to the city and a desire to preserve its history.

The AAP exhibits, promotes, and supports the work of visual artists who call Pittsburgh and the surrounding region home. The 100th Anniversary Exhibition opens September 12, 2024, at SPACE Gallery in partnership with the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, with an opening reception from 5-7 pm.
